Magnetic Particle Inspection method is based on the principle of using a ferromagnetic component (material that can be magnetised) for the detection of linear, surface and near surface discontinuities by applying magnetic particles to find invisible defects, without harming the part in any way.

What is Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) or Dye Pen Inspection (DPI)? A non-destructive test method which provides for the detection of surface discontinuities (flaws) in ferrous and non-ferrous test materials.
